Get that Content Monkey off your back!
If you’re always thinking about the content you should be writing, or wondering if what you’ve written is going to help achieve your goals, you know what I mean by the Content Monkey. If you have a business that designs, publishes or posts content for your clients and you’re constantly waiting for them to provide it, you’re familiar with this monkey, too. He’s always there, taking your focus away from other tasks, forcing you to write when you would rather be munching on popcorn at the movie theatre, reading your favourite author’s latest book, or working on other aspects of your business. But there’s those monkey hands in your hair, voice in your ear, and weight on your back, constantly reminding you of things like:
- That newsletter should have gone out yesterday, but you don’t know what should be in it. (Hint: It shouldn’t just be the latest blog post inserted into a newsletter format with a headshot and some contact info.)
- Speaking of blogs, it’s time to post one. Again. But you have no ideas. And even if you did, a topic would need a title, the title would need keywords and research and… Oy! And you haven’t even STARTED to write yet!
- Those auto-responders to walk people through a sign-up sequence for next month’s course — they will write themselves…won’t they?
- Hey! You forgot about those traffic-generating, engagement-creating social media posts.
Or, maybe your monkey is a little less in-your-face. Maybe he’s a bit more of a situational troublemaker like Curious George than Marcel from Friends. Just when you think you’ve nailed a month’s worth of blogs, two newsletters and your entire email list sign-up sequence, he pokes the screen and you wonder if anyone will ever click on that title and are convinced that you didn’t hit any SEO targets with the copy writing that ate up hours of valuable time you’ll never get back again.
Your time is valuable. Why waste it on things that aren’t part of your skill set? Think of all the things you could be doing — accomplishing and enjoying — if you weren’t stressed about creating content.
It’s time to get that monkey off your back with customized, creative content that converts. Ready? You have three options:
The answer for non-writers and businesses that need to post and publish content for their non-writer clients. You need it all: the ideas, the brainstorming; the what, where and how plan of attack. With the plan in place, you won’t worry about any of your content anymore. We’ll decide on topics, key points, which supporting material to create, and how to put it all together. I’ll take the topics and keywords, the descriptions, the promo materials, the case study subjects (whatever content was agreed upon during the planning sessions) and run with it, doing all the necessary research and verification, writing and revising to create killer content (all while you’re working for your clients, enjoying lunch with a friend, or sleeping in!).
We pick and choose the content that I’ll create for your business during strategy sessions (usually 2-3, done by phone/Skype/Zoom, email or your favourite messaging platform), and will then create targeted, SEO-rich content until we hit around 20,000 words. For perspective purposes, that’s approximately 40 pages* of material, which should result in a solid few months of consistent, tailored content. Sharing around the social media streets is also included.
(This is the best option for businesses who have clients that need to provide content, but have no idea how to start.)
You want it all — and that’s what you get with this package.
You want to be involved in the process of creating your content, but you’re still not confident about how well you write. You have good ideas about topics and what you want to offer your audience, but you need to get it organized and decide how best to deliver the goods. Once that’s complete, you’ll be able to provide me with outlines and keywords for blog posts, and some outlines for the other content items selected, at which point I’ll put it all together into concise, compelling content.
You’ll enjoy the same content strategy sessions as the Written For You package, the same amount of focused, web-friendly content (approximately 20,000 words or 40 pages*) will be created, and social media sharing is included.
You know what you want to share with “your people,” you just need some help fine-tuning it all. Let’s get it done — together!
Your writing is solid and you enjoy doing it, but you wonder if it would perform better with a few tweaks here and there. You’re tired of sending out correction emails because you provided incorrect links or information, and it’s embarrassing (not to mention, unprofessional) to have to revise that event sign-up page to include key information that was left out (like times, dates, locations, contact information — you would be amazed at how often that happens!). You would benefit from some guidance and direction to make your content more consistent and focused, and you need that second set of eyes to make sure everything is optimized, engaging and free of typos and other “whoopsies.”
Again, you’ll have the benefit of the strategy and brainstorming as with the other packages, and the same amount of content (approximately 40 pages* or 20,000 words) will be reviewed, revised and polished to enticing perfection. Social media sharing is included.
Stop stressing about the quality of your content. Let me polish it until it shines!
